Now that we have a better underlying set of principles, and will
possibly end up with a more mature environment, I wonder if it
might be a good idea to invite some projects to be GNU projects.
Eventually: yes. But I think right now there’s a little too much
going on for picking up business like that.
I’m sure this will also be seen as divisive. Personally, I think
this is not problematic in itself, but I’d feel a lot better about
it if we waited for some more stability and more of GNU
maintainers and contributors to join us (or decide not to join
us). Making big semi-permanent moves like that so early would
effectively take advantage of this early period of a small
community, which could easily be construed as unfair by those who
would consider joining after observing us for a little while until
the construction dust has settled.
So I’d say: better wait.
