the initiative on the FAQ. I'm guessing it's partly distilled from the
mastodon/twitter/IRC feedback.
Sorry amigos, but I'm a bit confused here:

This list (on which we are typing now) is archived and publicly visible, so I don't
think we've ever had a private list at all. I'm guessing that you're joking
about a "sinister coup", but I worry that it might be misread. We might have
had an occasional private email to a person or two, but that's it.
I agree that "these conversations" in the current FAQ could be mis-read to mean
that the Assembly was doing that, so it's probably important to be slightly pedantic
and say "the deliberations of the FSF were not transparent and used private mailing
lists".
